"People need to be aware that with him on the board, the building owners will have very little say as to what happens with the building budget, security, maintance and the managment company. Our board spends lots of time with the budget to make sure that we don't need to raise HOA dues. I would venture to guess that Barry would not do the same. You could eventually have probelms with the systems that support your building..ie water pumps, fire system, HVAC. You could have no recourse against being assessed to pay for these repairs with him on the board. If short cuts were taken while building these systems they will break sooner if not later and he won't fix them without the HOA jumping all over him.
What could eventually happen is your HOA dues will get hiked up and then people will get involved. It's difficult to rally support unless it's affecting people's pocket books. People will eventually pay for their apathy if they don't do something about it now." |
