SB Grand, Do You Know Where Your Money Is?

In the three and a half years I lived at this building, I made nine requests of the board and management company for copies of the building's finances, a few times via certified mail. I never received these documents despite Civil Code 1365-1365.6 requiring that a homeowner receive these items at least once a year without even asking.

A 281 unit building, like the SB Grand, might collect close to a million dollars a year in HOA dues from the homeowners. Five to six years after opening, that money adds up. Where is it?

If you are a homeowner at the SB Grand (or any condo building for that matter), and haven't received an accounting of exactly how the HOA is spending your money, you might consider turning this letter in to the building's management office.

If you are a homeowner dissatisfied with the way a board is handling your building, California Civil Code allows you to turn in a petition requesting a vote to recall the board.

If you are a homeowner at the SB Grand and you ever do receive Civil Code 1365 disclosures from the HOA, please e-mail truedowntown@gmail.com to let us know so this website can be updated. Please e-mail any positive changes that occur within the building.
